I grew up here on the Kāpiti coast and feel that I have a good understanding of the local climate and conditions that we live in. After building houses for a handful of years I moved into landscaping as I have always be passionate about the land and creating edible gardens.
For me it is all about the soil. If you create a soil that is alive then this is reflected in the plants that live in it. A garden that is alive is a garden that you want to be in.
I first started growing food in my garden a couple of decades ago. I liked the idea of my kids being able to go and pick fresh food, while they were playing outside. This hobby turned into connection and I take a lot of pride in being able to bring food into the kitchen all year round.
